Christmas 2006

In preparation for our Christmas celebration the girls had spent time throughout the week helping Dottie make a variety of Christmas cookies and candy. Unfortunately everyday after school the girls, particularly YouJin, would find the cookies which mom had thought she had hide….and helped themselves. When “Christmas” night came we only had a few cookies left, but we all laughed as Dottie and I recognized these were true “kids.”
The girls opened their stocking, which we had made for each of them, that were filled with all kind of goodies. Next, the girls opened a gift which was from our seven children. The read the card that the kids had signed to them…and which in part said, “welcome to the family.” Needless to say the girls were touched with a real sense of being loved. Lastly, Dottie and I had also gotten each of the girls a set of matching hat and gloves to properly prepare them for another Maine winter…and which they properly modeled for the camera.
The next morning we took the girls to the airport at 4:00 A.M. and sent them back to their families in Korea for two weeks. The house is kind of quiet now, but our 7 grown children will begin to appear shortly so for the time being we are taking a “long winter nap.”
