Christmas Comes Early

Tomorrow morning I leave at 3:30 A.M. with Seulki to meet the first “leg” of her flight out of Bangor International Airport and back to Korea. In fact, most of the boarding students at Foxcroft Academy head home during Christmas break to see their families. Next week our Hae-Jin and Felipe head back to Korea and Brazil, while Won will stay with us for Christmas, which we will enjoy.

As host parents we have always celebrated Christmas with our students prior to their leaving for home and tonight was no different. We enjoyed the evening with a large meal, lots of sweets and the traditional opening of stockings and gifts. As partents we haven’t changed much in the thirty plus years we have been raising children – we still go a bit overboard.
During the past two months our blog entries have been infrequent, but we have enjoyed and have taken special delight in the interaction of the girls with Felipe. While we were a little skeptical of having a boy with the three girls – the fact of the matter is that it couldn’t have worked out better. There is lots of teasing and joke playing…and we think Felipe has the upperhand on teasing, but the girls are proving to be a challenge.
